Carpe Diem offers you a "farm life" with the original farmhouse still standing proud, at the back of the property (built in 1940). Instead of a river running through, you have the sea and waves lashing on your doorstep, 50 meters from the beach. The garden offers privacy and the shade of enormous milkwood trees, blessing you with their tranquility. While having your morning coffee on your verandah you can see the dolphins playing in the clear water. Hot summers and warm winters. |

Umdloti - This coastal village is situated at the mouth of the Mdloti river and has derived its name from the Zulu term for a particular species of wild tobacco. Surrounded by fields of sugar cane and indigenous forest, Umdloti is one of the best kept secrets of KwaZulu Natal, let alone South Africa.
This quaint village has much to offer, such as the most awe-inspiring scenic coastal views, beautiful beaches including an enclosed tidal pool that is just riveting with natural sea life, not to mention the whale and dolphin watching season. The water is warm so lets go swimming, the warm indian ocean is forever inviting with Umdloti's shark netted and life guard protected beaches. A little further abroad there are half a dozen incredibly maintained golf courses within a 20 minute drive, Top quality pubs and restaurants are always available in this bustling village. |
